2 arrests made in Montclair laptop theft ‘homicide’

The victim followed the suspect in an attempt to recover the laptop, but was critically injured as the suspect's vehicle fled.

The incident took place Wednesday night on Golden Gate Avenue. The victim was released unharmed in Berkeley.

The shooting occurred around 10:50 p.m. on Halloween night at an unauthorized house party on Lucille Way.

Piedmont Police was dispatched following a report of a suspicious person in the school’s lobby, later found to have an outstanding warrant.

CHP officers pursued the stolen white van from Contra Costa County into Piedmont, where the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

The suspects' vehicle was observed weaving back and forth between the bike lane and vehicle lane on Grand Ave. Thursday night.
