Walter Hood, a landscape architect, and sujatha baliga, an attorney and restorative justice worker, each won the $625,000 prize. Last year, Piedmont native Becca Heller was a recipient.
The event, which drew hundreds of car buffs, young and old, from around the Bay Area, was also an opportunity for police and community to connect over a shared interest.
On November 5, residents will be asked once again to vote for a school parcel tax -- two of them -- which will account for over 30% of the PUSD budget.
