According to the most recent update from the Alameda County Office of Public Health, Piedmont cases have bumped up one to 29 from 28 last week.
Wear a Mask!
The city of Piedmont is emphasizing the importance for residents to follow Alameda County’s updated face covering order issued on June 5 that mandates that face coverings be worn at all times in public, if you are or are likely to be within 30 feet of another person outside of your household.
Covid case tracking numbers for Piedmont are basically meaningless unless you know that there is consistent and uniform TESTING! Why even bother posting the numbers when that just promotes a false sense of security? VERY few people I know have been tested.
Thanks so much for reiterating the importance and requirement of wearing a mask. As a long time resident of Piedmont, I’ve been enormously disappointed when members of our community choose to ignore this requirement meant to protect us all for their own short term comfort while on a walk, bike, or run. What does it say about our priorities when we choose to put our comfort and ability to run / bike as fast as we can ahead of the greater good? Is face sweat really that uncomfortable? Is it really that big a deal to run less distance and at a slower speed so we can beat COVID faster?
