More mandatory evacuations have been ordered for Guerneville, Jenner, Monte Rio and other areas north of the Russian River due to the 13-4 Fire burning in northwest Sonoma County. Likewise evacuations for the Hennessey Fire in rural Napa County have been ordered Tuesday for residences and commercial buildings along Steele Canyon Road from state Highway 128 (near the state Highway 121 junction) northeast to the Berryessa Highlands housing development just south of Lake Berryessa.
Both the Hennessey Fire and the 13-4 Fire, along with the Gamble Fire at the north end of Lake Berryessa, and the 15-10 Fire in Napa are part of a complex of fires referred to as LNU Lightning Complex Fires.
Mandatory evacuation orders for an “immediate threat to life” have been expanded due to the 13-4 wildfire, Cal Fire and the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday evening. Residents in the areas south of Stewarts Point Skaggs Springs Road, west of West Dry Creek Road and Westside Road, north of Sweetwater Springs Road and McCray Ridge Road, and east of East Austin Creek are being told to leave immediately.
Evacuation orders were given earlier Tuesday for the Sonoma County areas south of Stewarts Point-Skaggs Springs Road, north of Austin Creek, west of the intersection of Mill Creek Road at Puccioni Road and east of the Cedars. A mandatory evacuation was issued early Tuesday afternoon for Meyers Grade Road to the Sonoma Coast, south of Fort Ross Road and north of the intersection of Meyers Grade Road at state Highway 1. The evacuated areas are closed to the public
The Hennessey fire, first reported about 6:45 a.m. Monday, had as of Tuesday afternoon burned about 2,700 acres of vegetation southwest of Lake Berryessa, and was moving quickly eastward toward Highway 128.
There was zero containment reported as of 5 p.m. Tuesday. The Hennessey Fire is one of three main fires now being called the LNU Lightning Complex Fires.
Mandatory evacuations had been ordered Monday in heavily wooded areas covering Sage Canyon Road from Chiles Pope Valley Road to Lower Chiles Road, Highway 128 at Silverado Trail to Chiles Pope Valley Road, including Pritchard Hill, and Highway 128 at Lower Chiles Valley Road to Turtle Rock.
The Napa County Office of Emergency Services said an evacuation shelter has been established at Crosswalk Community Church 2590 First St. in Napa. Those seeking shelter must bring a face covering, adhere to social distancing and otherwise practice good hygiene habits. The shelter will be open only to people displaced by the fire, and those who come will have to provide their home addresses.
The 4-6 Fire at Point Reyes National Seashore, has grown to 50 acres, the Marin County Fire Department said Tuesday evening.
Access to the wildfire, which started some time after 1 p.m. Monday, is adjacent to the Woodward Trail and is difficult, officials said. There are no structures threatened and no evacuation orders, but trails in the area are closed and residents in the western part of Marin County are being advised of potential smoke impacts, the agency said.
