Visit the Community Pool in April: Opening month hours, $5 drop-ins, and annual pass sales

As the April 11 opening of Piedmont’s new Community Pool nears, here’s what to expect during the first month of operations.

April will be a ramp-up month for the new pool — a chance to get in the water, explore the facility, and start building routines before broader summer programming begins. From April 11 through April 30, everyone can swim for $5 per visit.

Opening Day and April hours

On opening day, Saturday, April 11, the pool will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with open swim available all day.

Beginning April 12, the pool schedule through the end of April will be:

  • Monday-Friday: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Midday closure: 1-3 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
    • Midday closure: 1-2:30 p.m. on Wednesday
  • Saturday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Throughout April, both the competition and activity pools will offer lap swim and open swim daily. The competition pool will be set up primarily for lap swim during morning hours, with a more limited number of lanes available later in the day. In the activity pool, lap swim will be available 6-9:30 a.m. on weekdays and 7 10 a.m. on weekends.

boards will be open, will be published at piedmont.ca.gov/pool

Resident annual pass sales

Resident annual pass sales began on March 24 through the City’s Aquatics registration portal at rec.us/piedmont

There is no limit on annual pass sales. If you’re considering an annual pass for your household, take your time to review the options, and reach out if you need help before making a purchase.

You will see options available for the four base pass types — Adult, Senior, Youth, Family — as well as “Adult Couple” and “Senior Couple” options, which are pre built versions of the pool’s flexible “Build-a-Pass” structure.

If you want a different household mix, start by adding the base pass that best fits your household to your cart. When you proceed to checkout, a pop-up window will give you the option to add household members or other add-ons.

Community members purchasing a pass will also be asked to review and agree to pool rules as part of the checkout process.
