The Pool Advisory Committee will be considering a pool pass model for the new community pool at its March 25 meeting at 6 p.m. in City Council Chambers. The city encourages interested residents to attend the meeting and share their thoughts. (The meeting will not be on Zoom or televised on KCOM.) If you are unable to attend and would like to submit a written correspondence to the Pool Advisory Committee regarding the agenda item, please email staff liaison, Chelle Putzer at cputzer@piedmont.ca.gov  by 4 p.m. on March 25.

This is the second study session to review the updates to the proposed pool pass model for the new Piedmont Community Pool following feedback provided to staff at the Feb. 13 Pool Advisory Committee meeting.

In a memo to the Committee from new Recreation Supervisor for Aquatics Paula Cooper-Tipton and Recreation Director Chelle Putzer, the city said it recommended a “Build A Pass” model based on a 15% increase in base rates from the 2019 rates and a 40% non-resident pool pass premium. It also said that “conservative financial operating projections indicate a 100% cost recovery by FY 2029 and all years following, including the debt service on the small electrification loan and Long Term Capital Reserve Fund annual allocations.”

The city says that comments and the Committee’s discussion are expected to provide direction to staff and inform a final pool pass model that will be considered by the Pool Advisory Committee at their next meeting before it is sent to City Council for final approval.
