The Piedmont Unified School District (PUSD) will host an Elementary Prospective Parent Information Night on Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 7 – 8 p.m. in the Ellen Driscoll Playhouse at 325 Highland Avenue.
According to the school district, staff will provide Information about Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and elementary programming, and a panel of current students who attend Piedmont schools will be in attendance.
The school district is facing an enrollment decline in the coming years, part of a state-wide trend that has a direct impact on school budgets.
“I would like every resident child to attend our outstanding schools, and this means creating awareness throughout Piedmont,” said PUSD Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Hawn in her Nov. 6 weekly email to the school community. Hawn said the Superintendent’s Advisory Council has been working strategies for increasing resident enrollment in PUSD, to include surveys and focus groups to understand why some Piedmont families choose private education over local public schools.
