On Sunday, Sept. 24 Piedmont Park was abuzz with Harvest Festival activity — Scarecrow Alley, an edibles contest, live music, food trucks, and more. The picture-perfect early fall afternoon drew a healthy crowd of families, especially those with young children.
The Piedmont Education Foundation says it raised around $7,000 from the “Space Invasion” themed scarecrow auction and another $7,000 from the carnival — all of which goes to support the elementary schools.
Resident guitarist Rick Schiller, the Albany Jazz Band, and Savage Bond entertained the families who gathered on the lawn.
