City Council and Bond Oversight Committee members, along with city and public works staff, donned hard hats and safety vests to mark another big community pool construction milestone on Wednesday morning. They gathered to observe the application of “shotcrete,” or sprayed concrete, conveyed through a hose and pneumatically projected at high velocity onto the back wall to create the retaining walls for the new aquatic center.
Although there have been minor delays since groundbreaking December, the pool complex is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024.
