PUSD Director of Facilities Pete Palmer gave the Exedra a peek inside the new theater building this week. The new performing arts building is scheduled to open this November. As The Piedmont Highlander reported earlier this spring, government-mandated safety and accessibility upgrades along with COVID-related precautions added significantly to the cost of the building and pushed back the opening date by about a month. Palmer said in the TPH interview that PUSD is looking at a variety of funding sources — PEF, grants, and other state-funded programs — to complete the project as designed.
