Work on Piedmont’s new pool complex continues apace: Last Friday, Aug. 11, construction crews oversaw the first major concrete pour at the site. Crews poured 400 yards of concrete to create the footings for the retaining walls at the new pool, the city said, enabling the next step — waterproofing in preparation for the “shotcrete” (actual retaining wall) pour.
City photos from Aug. 11 show the operation underway. The work took place the same week school resumed and families were asked to avoid driving in the area due to concrete mixer truck traffic that day.
