Local artist to host open studio for the holidays and ‘Cats for Kamala’ on Nov. 3

Karen Stanton

Local artist and author Karen Stanton will host an Artist Open Studio at her studio on Sunday Nov. 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stanton is a teaching artist and children’s book author/illustrator. In addition to ceramic flowers and bells, stuffed creatures, paintings, and prints, Stanton is offering something new:

Cats for Kamala!

After the controversy over childless cat ladies erupted, a friend suggested we make cats in the style of Kamala, with Converse tennies and/or pearls, donating all proceeds to the campaign. The first litter was born on the opening day of the Democratic National Convention, selling out in a flash. The second litter was born on the eve of the Presidential debate, and most were quickly adopted too. Now the third (and final) litter has arrived and are available in my online shop and home studio at 140 Monticello Avenue.

We cat/dog ladies are happy and proud to announce that, as of today, we have donated $3,125 through ActBlue to the Harris/Walz campaign.

Please visit my online shop HERE to support the project.

Or drop in on Sunday, Nov. 3 between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to visit, meet the cats for Kamala, and see the art for the holidays and every day.

Hope to see your smiling face. Dogs and kids especially welcome.
