Who’s that Good Dog?

Who wants to play?

Family: Tyler, Jessica, Makenna, Mailey, Mila, and Maverick Small

Name: Woody

Breed: Dachshund

Age: 2 years old

Adoption story: We had been wanting to add a second dog to our family, and my mom, Jessica, had always had a special love for long-haired Dachshunds. We spent about a month searching, hoping to find the perfect little addition to our family. Then, we came across a dog up for adoption in Oakdale, California, and something about him just felt right. My mom knew he was the one. Sometimes, you can search and search for the perfect dog, but when the right one comes along, you just know.

Likes: Woody has such a fun and loving personality! He loves to play, go on walks, and keep an eye out for the mail to arrive each day. He takes his job as the family’s little mail watcher very seriously! When he isn’t busy playing or watching the world go by, he loves nothing more than cuddling up with his family and getting lots of love and attention. Woody also loves to be with his sister Lulu (our English bulldog). They love to chase each other and cuddle up together. One of Woody’s funniest little habits is hiding, especially underneath my mom and dad’s bed, where he likes to make himself a cozy little hiding spot.

Dislikes: Woody can be a little nervous around loud noises and big vehicles, especially the trash truck! When those big trucks come by, he prefers to stay somewhere he feels safe.

Interesting: Woody has some pretty funny little quirks that make him extra special! For starters, he yawns SO loudly that he sounds like a baby dinosaur. He also has the funniest eating habits because he only eats one piece of kibble at a time, like every single piece deserves his full attention.
