Fresh, zesty, and easy to make, this classic guacamole is perfect for parties, taco nights, or anytime you need a crowd-pleasing dip. Adjust the lime, jalapeño, and salt to taste, and serve with plenty of tortilla chips.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 ripe avocados (firm with a slight give when pressed)
  • ¼ cup red onion (finely diced)
  • 1 Roma tomato (seeded and diced)
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro (chopped)(optional)
  • 1 jalapeño (minced, seeds removed for less heat)(optional)
  • Juice and zest of 1 to 2 fresh limes
  • ½ teaspoon salt (to taste)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Prep the avocados: Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
  2. Mash: Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocado to your preferred texture (chunky or smooth).
  3. Add mix-ins: Stir in the diced red onion, Roma tomato, cilantro, and jalapeño.
  4. Season: Squeeze in fresh lime juice and zest and add salt, then gently mix everything together.
