Who’s that Good Dog?

Indy with her parents Hayley and Patrick

Family: Hayley Adams and Patrick Smith

Dog name: Indy, aka Indianapolis, aka Indy 500

Age: 11.5 Years Old

Breed: Border Collie and Black Lab mix

Adoption Story: Patrick and I were looking to get a senior dog for our first pet together. But we were visiting family in Chicago, and thought it would be fun to go check out dogs at the local shelter. While we were walking around, Patrick was nowhere to be found … until I walked by the puppy room where he had Indy in his arms. That was almost 12 years ago. Since then, Indy has lived in three states and two countries.

Likes: Indy loves to sunbathe on our deck, have a ridiculous amount of fish treats, and especially loves supporting the Piedmont Highlanders for any of the year-round fan opportunities. She is often found sporting a purple bandana at Witter Field with the Flag Football team.

Dislikes: Indy does not like skateboards. She also doesn’t like UPS trucks.

Fun Fact: Indy has enjoyed the sun so much in her years, that she has several red-copper fur patches all around her body (which the vet says is absolutely normal). Additionally, she has also been to eight national parks.
