Who’s that Good Dog?

George

Family: Steve Schiller, Christine Kaiser, Sarah, Kate, and Anna Schiller

Name: George

Age: 7.5

Breed: American Village Dog (technically a Mutt)

Adoption story: We’ve fostered a lot of dogs before. During the pandemic, our daughter Sarah was volunteering at Rocket Dog and she told us that she had the perfect dog for us. She showed up with George from Puerto Rico, who had come alongside other dogs from there. His pound name was actually Jorge, but we decided to change his name to George.

Likes: George’s primary hobby is protecting us from squirrels. He also loves going to Dracena Park, Piedmont Park, and Redwood Park to play and run around. Lastly, he likes taking baths.

Dislikes: George does not like cats. We have a neighborhood cat, but unfortunately our home isn’t a good place for him to hang out.

Interesting fact: George’s breed is unique as his DNA shows he’s an American Village Dog (a breed of dogs that wandered from village to village in the US and the Caribbean.)
