Multiple guns, other weapons recovered
A traffic stop in August led to the recovery of a cache of weapons, according to Piedmont Police. The initial stop produced two firearms concealed in a vehicle’s engine compartment with a suspect arrested.
Piedmont Police conducted an investigation and came back to request a search warrant of the suspect’s residence.
Police worked with Oakland Police and the California Highway Patrol to execute the search warrant on September 22 at a residence on Bellevue Avenue. That turned up multiple firearms, magazines and other weapons. The suspect was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
On September 24, police were dispatched to a report of a stolen motorcycle picked up by the city’s Flock cameras. Police found the red motorcycle parked at the Safeway at 5100 Broadway in Oakland. According to Captain Chris Monahan, officers waited and arrested the suspect when he returned. The suspect was taken to Santa Rita Jail and booked for possession of a stolen vehicle. The motorcycle was recovered for San Jose Police.
On September 24, a black 2020 Acura RDX was found parked and unoccupied at 8:22 a.m. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Vallejo. It was towed and recovered for the registered owner.
On September 25, a burglary was reported at the city’s corporate yard at 8:51 a.m. According to Captain Monahan, a small amount of tolls and a city traffic vest were taken. Cameras captured the incident. The suspect was found the next day driving into Piedmont, according to Captain Monahan. He said the property was found in his vehicle. The suspect was booked for burglary.
