Piedmont Police patrolling on Highland Avenue on the morning of Aug. 29 found a white 2006 Ford E-350 van with a broken driver side window and an open rear door. Police found the van at 5:38 a.m. and estimated that the break-in likely occurred within the hour, according to Piedmont Police Captain Chris Monahan.
Police secured the vehicle and left a business card for the owner. Captain Monahan said the victim reported 12 tools were stolen with a value of approximately $3,000. Tools included a Milwaukee Sawzall, a Milwaukee nail gun, a DeWalt nail gun, a Dewalt hammer drill and a charger.
On Aug. 28, an electric scooter was reported to have been taken overnight on San Carlos Avenue. The reporting person advised her son’s GOTRAX scooter was stolen from the driveway of the residence. The scooter was last seen the morning of Aug. 27. The value of the scooter was estimated at $1,000-1,500.
