Vogue World, the global fashion and cultural event, will be hosted in San Francisco next year.
“Vogue believes in celebrating cities, and San Francisco is a city like none other,” said Anna Wintour in a statement. Wintour is the chief content officer of Vogue’s publisher Conde Nast, and the global editorial director of Vogue.
“There’s a history of rebelliousness here, as well as incredible innovation,” Wintour added. “I love that San Francisco has always stood up for its values and the things it believes in. We think it’s the perfect setting for Vogue World 2027.”
Vogue World is a one-day, annual event featuring high-end runway shows and musical performances. It focuses on local cultural themes, draws celebrity attendees, and includes donations to local charities.
“Creativity and free expression have been the engine of San Francisco for generations, and that spirit will be on full display at Vogue World 2027,” said Mayor Daniel Lurie in a statement.
Lurie said that bringing Vogue World to San Francisco will show that the city is “on the rise.”
“Thanks to our ecosystem of talented designers, musicians, and small businesses — and the artists and workers behind them — visitors are coming to our city, and our economy is recovering,” he said. “Vogue World will support San Francisco’s creative minds and strengthen the entire ecosystem.”
The event will be held in the fall of 2027. Vogue said that more information on the event will be coming.
