From a July 28 City of Piedmont press release
Fall Recreation program registration for Piedmont residents opens at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4. Those who live in other cities can sign up for PRD fall programs starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11.
Highlights of Fall programming include:
• New special events: Two new special events join PRD’s regular fall lineup – Cardboard Boat Races at the Community Pool on September 19 and a Floating Pumpkin Patch on October 24.
Building on the success of this month’s inaugural Food Truck Friday, we’ve also added three more food truck nights at Piedmont Park (August 21, September 18, October 16) – now with a much-requested earlier start time at 5 p.m.

• Holiday break camps: With 20 unique camp offerings during PUSD’s November and winter school breaks, including 11 days of full-day Schoolmates Camp Kaleidoscope and Splash Camps at the Community Pool, the Fall activity guide is packed with options for working families who need all day care at affordable rates. With topics ranging from Lego to jewelry design to movie making to entrepreneurship, there’s a camp for every interest!

• Fall 801nce/month line up: PRD’s popular adult social event series returns August 26 with a puzzle competition for teams up to 6 players, followed by a “Nerd Night” featuring an education and entertaining presentation on moths from Bay Area ecologist Allen Fish on September 16. October 14 brings the series full circle with Paint Nite – the same activity that launched this event series two years ago. Finally, Drag Queen Bingo rounds out the season on November 13.
