The center of town was awash in red, white, and blue as Piedmont marked the nation’s 250th birthday with a festive parade down Highland Avenue that culminated in a picnic in Piedmont Park. It was a picture-perfect day as local Scouts served up traditional holiday fare and musical performances entertained the crowd.
Grand Marshal Cora Wood and her family headed up the dignitary procession, followed by Mayor Betsy Smegal Andersen, Councilmembers Conna McCarthy and Lorrel Plimier plus School Board members Ruchi Medhekar, Michael Malione, Max Roman, and PUSD Superintendent Jennifer Hawn.
