More than 20,000 people are expected to gather at Lake Merritt this Saturday for the 7th Annual LakeFest Oakland.

Founded in 2018 by Trevel Adanandus, LakeFest Oakland celebrates the culture and diversity of Oakland with live music, food vendors, and family-friendly activities.

“LakeFest is more than a festival — it’s a reflection of what makes Oakland extraordinary: our people, our culture, and our unwavering commitment to community,” Adanandus said in a statement.

There will be multiple stages at Lakefest this year and a mix of artists performing, with each stage highlighting certain types of performers and genres. At the Lakefest Main Stage attendees can enjoy mainstream acts and artists like the Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Eric Bellinger. On the Culture Stage, attendees can catch local artists and rising talent from around the Bay Area. And on the Gospel Stage viewers will be treated to a full day of live gospel entertainment.

There will also be a Health and Wellness Zone at Lakefest this year with mental health resources, wellness vendors, and yoga activities.

This year’s expanded Kids Zone will feature arts and crafts, interactive activities, and live animals.

Road closures surrounding Lake Merritt are scheduled from 8 p.m. Friday through 11 p.m. Saturday. Grand Avenue between Harrison and Perkins streets will be fully closed during this time. Perkins Street, Ellita Avenue, and Staten Avenue will be partially closed but will remain accessible to residents.

The cost for attending Lakefest varies by age. Admission for children ages 5–10 is $12.51 and general admission is $23.18.
