Adoption story: We found Rose through a rescue dog Facebook group when she was four years old. We immediately fell in love with her at first sight! We went to Marin to meet her and her original name was Hope. When we first saw her, she was in very rough condition and had previously come out of a puppy mill home. Right away we could tell she was a gentle and sweet dog, and we took her home almost immediately.
Likes: Rose loves sunbathing. Additionally, she enjoys going on long hikes.
Dislikes: Rose does not enjoy being interrupted from her beauty rest.
Interesting Fact: Rose is very old for her breed. Shih Tzus are only supposed to live up to 12 years old! She is also actually deaf and has a permanently injured hip — but that doesn’t stop her from being energetic and loving all the time.
Side note: Shih Tzus are in the toy (very small) group of dogs and tend to be popular show dogs. They date back to ancient China and were said to be called lion dogs.
