If you haven’t yet voted in the statewide primary election, you have options. Mail in your ballot, drop it at a secure drop box, or vote in person at any of 100 locations across Alameda County by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2.
All registered voters were sent a vote-by-mail ballot in May. If you are registered but did not receive a ballot by mail, contact the Alameda County Registrar of Voters at (510) 272-6933.
Vote in-person at Kehilla Community Synagogue or any other Alameda County vote center
Starting Saturday, May 30, you can vote in-person at any of 100 vote centers across Alameda County, including Kehilla Community Synagogue (1303 Grand Avenue) in Piedmont. Vote centers are open:
• Saturday, May 30 – Monday, June 1: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Tuesday, June 2: 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
A small subset of vote centers are open for a full 11 days before the election, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily starting Saturday, May 23. The nearest 11-day vote center to Piedmont is at Parks Chapel Ame Church (476 34th St., Oakland).
Vote by mail or drop box
Ballots mailed through the post office must be postmarked by June 2. Due to recent changes in postmarking procedures, the California Secretary of State’s Office urges anyone who has not mailed their ballot by May 26 to:
• walk into the post office to request a postmark on your ballot
• turn it in at an official ballot drop box or vote center
You can also submit your ballot 24 hours a day at the secure ballot drop box near the mailboxes at Highland Way and Highland Avenue, or at any of 65 other official Registrar of Voters ballot drop boxes across Alameda County.
The Registrar of Voters picks up ballots from the drop boxes every day. The last pickup will be 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2. Postage is not required for ballots submitted at the drop box.
Conditional (“Same Day”) Voter Registration
If you missed the deadline to register for this election you can still vote provisionally by registering and voting at any vote center.
Your ballot will be processed and counted after the Registrar of Voters has verified your information. This process takes time, so your ballot may not be included in the results reported on election night.
