The Blotter | Traffic stop leads to drug find

A traffic stop on May 4 led to drugs being found. The driver was detained at 7:10 a.m. and was found to be on probation, according to Cmdr. Lisa Douglas of the Piedmont Police Department.

A resulting search found what Douglas called a “small amount of drugs.” The driver was cited and released and the vehicle was towed.


On May 4, a subject was found sleeping in a black GMC Yukon around 10:32 a.m., according to the police log. Douglas said the keys were in the ignition. She said the driver was arrested for being in possession of a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance. The vehicle was towed.


Also on May 4, a white Subaru was reported to be in a single vehicle crash on Wildwood Avenue at 8:43 p.m. Police responded and found the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, according to Douglas. The suspect was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin and the vehicle was towed.
