On Friday 270 elementary school parents and guardians stepped into a world of intrigue and elegance, donning their finest spy-inspired attire for the James Bond–themed Spring Fling 2026 Gala: “A Night Licensed to Give”.
Hosted in support of Beach, Havens, and Wildwood elementary schools, the evening brought families together to celebrate community, connection, and a shared commitment to enriching local education. Guests were welcomed with James Bond’s signature Vesper Martini as they explored an exciting silent auction featuring exceptional offerings, from a rare 1975 Château Mouton Rothschild with an iconic Andy Warhol label, to a curated mid-century modern cocktail collection by Dress Best for Less, a personalized Ariel Gordon necklace, and a luxurious weekend getaway at Cavallo Point. Attendees also enjoyed custom “instant portraits” by fashion illustrator Ali Rybczyk, generously sponsored by Jason Mitchell and Michelle Heafey Real Estate.

The night’s momentum carried into a dynamic live auction and fund-a-need paddle raise, both of which achieved record-breaking success. Competitive bidding drove enthusiasm for exclusive experiences, including vacation homes in Tahoe and Montana, a private tour of the SFO air traffic control tower, a fighter jet experience, and a private concert and party package featuring parent-led band We Are Leaves at Tea on Piedmont. One of the evening’s most memorable moments came with the auction of a custom portrait by Beach parent and acclaimed artist Ian Micheal, which inspired spirited bidding across the room.
The event culminated in the most successful fund-a-need in Spring Fling history, raising $111,100 to support critical programs across all three schools, including field trip transportation, structured play initiatives, and counseling services.

As the formal program concluded, guests took to the dance floor to the high-energy sounds of Pop Rocks and tried their luck at casino tables, ending the evening in true Bond fashion.
The Piedmont Education Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to event co-chairs Caroline Gershwin, Jenny Miller, and Zeena Fakoury for their outstanding leadership and dedication in bringing this unforgettable evening to life.

While the mission was a resounding success, there are still opportunities to contribute. Kindergarten and fifth-grade families are encouraged to purchase Coming & Goings photographs, Parent Party tickets remain available, and donations to support the Beach, Havens, and Wildwood Fund-a-Need are still being accepted.
