Girls lacrosse | Piedmont takes two of three

Piedmont High School’s girls lacrosse team took two out of three matches to hit spring break at 5-7 after an 0-5 start.

On March 28, the Highlanders beat host Cardinal Newman-Santa Rosa, 9-5. Peyton Watson scored four goals while Sydney Latvala and Hallie Burden scored two apiece. Burden added an assist. Sophia Puckett also scored a goal. Reagan McIntosh had three goals for the Cardinals. Ava Woods had the other two.

On March 30, Piedmont fell at College Park, 12-8. Burden had five goals and an assist to lead the Highlanders. Watson had two goals and Latvala had the other. Alyssa Hennefer and Brady Lyons each scored four times for the Falcons. Lyons also had an assist. Daphne Densmore had a goal and an assist while Reagan Holmes, Jaice Vickroy and Jackalyn Todd each scored a goal.

On April 1, Piedmont defeated San Rafael at Witter Field, 6-5. Dahlia Osman scored three goals to lead the Highlanders. Latvala added two goals along with an assist. Elliot Handorp had the other goal. Burden added an assist.

Mariana Barriots had three goals for the Bulldogs. Gabriella San Diego had a goal and an assist while Katie Garcia had a goal.

Piedmont is off until April 14 when it will host Northgate at Witter Field.
