The Piedmont High School boys golf team moved to 5-4 on the season with a 200-230 win over Encinal on April 1 at Lake Chabot Golf Course.
River Bloemker was low for the Highlanders with a one-over 37 on nine holes. Derek Lee shot a 39 and Jackson Van Kleeck was next with a 40. Niko Kalamas shot a 42 along with Henry Pfister. River Westphal had a non-scoring 58. Bloemker’s round was a personal-best.
On March 16, Piedmont competed in the 27 th annual Spring Golf Classic at Monarch Bay Golf Club. The Highlanders finished 14 th out of 23 teams with a score of 435. Bloemker shot a seven-over 78. Van Kleeck shot an 80 with Pfister next at 86. Kalamas shot a 93 and Logan Setonguyen a 98.
Bishop O’Dowd won the team title with a 359. San Ramon Valley was next at 369 with California next at 373. William Chang was the medalist overall with a 65.
