The League of Women Voters of Piedmont is sponsoring an all-ages “No Kings 3” rally in Piedmont Park, 711 Highland Ave., near the fountain and playground this Saturday, March 28. The 30-minute program — which starts at 10:15 a.m. — will include multi-generational speakers, songs to sing, and even special musical guests.
Speakers will include Piedmont Mayor Betsy Smegal Anderson, LWV of California Co-President and Councilmember Lorrel Plimier, local activists Susan Miller-Davis and Jonathan Davis, and PHS student Ariadne Tatsis. Guest musicians Thomas Blaeschke and Mary Ellen Callahan will share an inspiring new piece, and local treasure Tina Harrington will lead us in some fun songs.
Come at the beginning to catch this special program. Then join the walk from Piedmont Park down Highland Ave. to Moraga Ave., and back. Bring your signs.
On March 28, millions across the country will take to the streets to say loud and clear that we don’t do Kings, responding through morally-grounded and nonviolent protest.
This event connects Piedmont to cities across the country engaging in peaceful civic action.
