Piedmont Education Foundation’s annual Spring Fling gala is always a special evening, but this year’s May 1 event at Bloc 15 in Oakland promises to be unforgettable. Spring Fling co-chairs Zeena Fakoury, Caroline Gershwin, and Jenny Miller invite elementary parents to join them for a 007-inspired evening of dancing, dining, and bidding on one-of-a-kind auction items.
Gala guests will also have the opportunity to bid on returning favorites, such as a Piedmont Police Ride-along, Epicure’s Trifecta (experiences at The Wolf, Wood Tavern, and Southie), fishing with Gatherer Outfitters, and vacation homes in Tahoe and Montana.
The auction will also offer several new, unique, and unforgettable experiences. Ella Rossanis won the Great Australian Bakeoff in 2022 with her “Gateau Chateau” castle dreamhouse. Since moving to Piedmont, Rossanis has expanded her “edible magic” repertoire. She is not only baking for the cake auction, she will be leading an exclusive cake decorating experience.
Fresh off his solo exhibition at the Maybaum Gallery, Oakland artist and Beach dad Ian Micheal is creating an original painting for the Spring Fling auction. Micheal is pleased with his child’s school experience so far, and says he’s grateful for the, “people working so hard to put [Spring Fling] on, and I want to help them as much as I can.”
Also on the docket are premium Valkyries tickets, a VIP visit to the SFO air traffic control tower, and more surprises.
Proceeds from the evening directly support vital programs for our students, including elementary counseling, structured play, and field trip transportation.
Tickets and sponsorships are available at PiedmontSpringFling.org. We can’t wait to see you there — shaken, not stirred!
