Insights, stories and interviews about homeownership and living in the East Bay
From a Piedmont native, Emmy award winning television journalist turned Broker Associate at The Grubb Co., UCLA graduate, wife and mother of 3.
Lisa: Shanti and Laura are longtime friends who love collaborating.
Laura: We’ve done retreats together and I’ve been bothering Shanti about these morning dance parties I’ve been seeing all over instagram and I thought what better way than getting people together and having joy in a time when a lot of people are having a difficult time, there’s loneliness there’s a lot going in the world, let’s get together dance it out.
Lisa: A boogie heart party is all about gathering to celebrate life.
Shanti: It starts with a little meeting, a new friend or two, some deep breaths together as a community, then we dance our patooties off, and we end with some meditation and mindfulness, sort of taking the joy into our hearts so we can take it out into the world.
Lisa: They believe we all need more joy, more community, and more connection, and yes, they genuinely love to dance.
Laura: I hope people can feel close to each other, that they can experience joy, that they can release things that are heavy, and that they can connect with people they do not usually connect with. We love seeing all ages; we’ve had babies, 3-year-olds, and teenagers. We want everyone to feel safe and happy.
Lisa: It’s about relaxing, having fun, and giving yourself permission to experience real joy.
Shanti: You can wear everything that brings you happiness and a smile to your face, and if that’s workout clothes, that’s fun; if it’s a sequin mini skirt, that’s great too, just anything goes, just be yourself, and just come.
Lisa: Anyone can come, and everyone is welcome. So the only question is… are you ready to dance?
