Get inspired for your next home renovation project at the Planning Commission Design, Sustainable Living, and Wildfire Resilience Awards Gala, where we celebrate the best in construction, landscaping, and sustainable home improvements in Piedmont:

  • Design, Sustainable Living, and Wildfire Resilience Awards Gala
  • Wednesday, April 15, 6:00 p.m.
  • Piedmont Community Hall, 711 Highland Ave.

Six homes (below) were recognized with design awards in 2026.

Sustainable Living Award and Wildfire Resilience Award recipients will be announced in a subsequent news release.

Each year, the Planning Commission recognizes a small number of exemplary projects with a Design Award. Projects selected for awards reflect the highest level of design excellence among all that have come before the Commission for review. To be eligible for consideration, a project must conform to Piedmont’s design and planning guidelines and must have completed construction in the previous calendar year.

In 2024, a new dimension was added to the longstanding event, with the introduction of Sustainable Living Awards, which celebrate property owners who have incorporated green elements like heat pumps, solar panels, and greywater systems into their homes. This year brings another new element, with the introduction of the City’s first ever Wildfire Resilience Awards, which will recognize residents modeling home hardening and fire-smart landscaping best practices.

The gala is an opportunity to learn more about the projects selected for recognition, meet the contractors and design professionals who made them possible, and hear directly from property owners about their experiences.

Six projects were selected to receive a 2026 Design Award. Recipients are listed on the following page. Sustainable Living and Wildfire Resilience Award recipients will be highlighted in a forthcoming announcement.
