Highlanders play well in loss

The Piedmont High School boys volleyball team dropped a tough four-set match to Alameda in Binks Gymnasium on March 27. The Hornets emerged with a 25-17, 23-25, 25-20, 25-22 victory.

The Highlanders are now 5-12, 0-5 in West Alameda County Conference play.

“We played hard but had four players out, and several players playing out of position as a result,” Piedmont coach Mike Glass said. “Looking for forward to rematching them in April.”

The Highlanders dropped a match at San Leandro on March 24, 25-14, 25-14, 25-12. On March 20, they lost at home to Castro Valley, 25-15, 25-23, 25-19.

On March 19, Piedmont won at Mt. Eden, 25-20, 25-21, 25-22.

On March 17, the Highlanders were swept by Bishop O’Dowd at Binks, 25-15, 25-16, 25-10.

Piedmont is now on spring break and will next play in a nonleague match against Urban-San Francisco on April 14 at Binks.
