Boys golf | Piedmont splits with Encinal, Castro Valley

Piedmont's Derek Lee tees off at No. 1 at the WACC championships on May 5, 2025 at Tilden Park Golf Course. Lee ended up qualifying for the NCS Division 2 championships, where he just missed qualifying for the Division 1 tournament that year.

The Piedmont High School boys golf team split a three-way match with Encinal and Castro Valley on March 25 at Redwood Canyon Golf Course in Castro Valley. The Highlanders shot a 209, beating Encinal (225) and falling to Castro Valley (181).

Jackson Van Kleeck led Piedmont with a three-over 38. Derek Lee was next with a 39. River Bloemker shot a 42, followed by Niko Kalamas at 44 and Henry Pfister at 46. Logan Seto-Nguyen had a 51.

The Highlanders are now 3-3 on the season and are next scheduled to play April 1 against Encinal at Lake Chabot Golf Course.
