The National Weather Service says dry weather will hold through Saturday morning before widespread rain and gusty winds return late Saturday and continue into much of next week.
Temps are expected to drop early to mid next week as a colder air mass moves in, according to the NWS.
A major winter weather advisory is in place for the Greater Tahoe area starting Sunday night.
