PEF welcomes Spring Fling co-chairs

Zeena Fakoury, Caroline Gershwin and Jenny Miller

Piedmont Education Foundation (PEF) is pleased to announce that this year’s Spring Fling season will be co-chaired by Piedmont elementary parents Caroline Gershwin, Jenny Miller, and Zeena Fakoury. Working with parents across all three elementary schools, the co-chairs are already hard at work planning an engaging, community-building season of events that will bring together families from Beach, Havens and Wildwood while raising critical funds to support essential school programs.

“As a Spring Fling Co-chair and a proud Piedmont alum, this work is deeply personal to me,” says Fakoury. “The schools that shaped my (and so many others’) childhood deserve our continued investment so they can thrive for generations to come. As parents, educators, and community members, we have a unique and special responsibility to honor that legacy and ensure that our schools continue to excel and prosper. Spring Fling is more than a fundraiser—it’s a reflection of how deeply this community believes in its schools. We all have a role to play in supporting our students, and when we come together, the impact is extraordinary.”

“I am deeply grateful for this community and all it has given to my kids and our family,” adds Miller. “I love spending time with this fun, generous community and am constantly inspired by how parents rally together to support our schools. There is a genuine sense of love that comes through at every event, making Spring Fling truly special.”

“An Education is Forever: A Night Licensed to Give” theme of this year’s gala

The centerpiece of Spring Fling is the annual Gala, “An Education is Forever: A Night Licensed to Give,” taking place on May 1st at Bloc 15 in Oakland. Inspired by the intrigue and glamour of James Bond, the evening promises a stylish night out in support of Piedmont’s elementary schools. “We hope all families will take part in our events this season. We know nothing brings this community together like the shared goal of having a great night out while we all pitch in to keep our kids’ school—and our sanity—fully funded,” says Gershwin.

A season of fundraising and community celebrations planned for Piedmont elementary schools

Leading up to the gala, Spring Fling features a full calendar of events that play a vital role in the fundraising process. The season officially launches with a Spring Fling Kick-Off Party on Wednesday, February 25. Fakoury, Miller and Gershwin invite all Beach, Havens, and Wildwood parents to get involved, whether by volunteering, helping with the planning, bidding in the online or live auctions, buying tickets to a theme party or the Gala, or by becoming a parent sponsor. All funds raised through Spring Fling directly support our elementary schools, helping ensure students continue to benefit from the programs and resources that make Piedmont schools strong.
