From a Jan. 8 Piedmont Police social media post:
Yesterday, January 7, 2026, at approximately 4:45 PM, Piedmont Police Department units were dispatched to the area of Blair Ave. and Hillside Ave. on a report of a theft of tools. Upon arrival, officers determined that unknown suspect(s) had just stolen a 2026 GMC Sierra 3500 with an attached trailer hauling a large quantity of dirt and concrete.
The suspect(s) fled westbound on Blair toward Ricardo before losing control of the vehicle at the intersection of Ricardo Ave., where it collided with the front of a residence. No injuries were reported to the residents or any bystanders.
The suspect(s), described as males wearing ski masks, then entered a dark gray Honda and fled the scene toward Grand Ave.
