Piedmont Education Foundation’s Giving Campaign raises over $4 million

Kim Hunter and Catie Osborn update the Giving Campaign thermometer to reflect $4 million raised for Piedmont schools.

Piedmont Education Foundation has announced that this year’s Giving Campaign has raised over $4,000,000 in gifts and pledges in support of Piedmont’s public schools. This represents an increase of 9% over last year and is the strongest Giving Campaign in history.

Kim Hunter and Catie Osborn have led the Giving Campaign for the past three years, raising increasing amounts each year, totalling over $11,000,000 for Piedmont’s public schools. When asked about their success, Osborn shared, “Our community gets it. We’ve all seen the increasing costs of living and doing business, and the increasing needs of our schools. We know what we want for our kids and our community is here to meet those needs.”

Hunter adds, “It seems to me that the community made a really loud statement this year about what is important. The Giving Campaign exists to continue the betterment of our public schools, and that’s something we have control over. Our community has been showing up for our schools for 50 years and we’ll keep showing up for 50 more.”

So far this year, PEF has received gifts and pledges from 1,161 households, the highest number of donor households since 2022. Parent participation is currently at 61%; the final total will be calculated at the end of June as donors will have until then to make their Giving Campaign contribution for the year.

The Giving Campaign would like to congratulate the 1st grade families for winning the class participation challenge with 79% overall participation. 3rd grade families came in second place with 74%. Across schools, Beach has the highest participation at 76% followed by Havens at 73%, Wildwood at 68%, PMS at 58% and PHS/MHS at 50%.

Approximately $300,000 of Giving Campaign contributions are donor designated to the endowment fund. At the end of the school year, PEF will add the remaining $3.7 million to the endowment distribution and other fundraisers, subtract expenses, and grant those funds to PUSD for the 2026-27 academic year. A survey will be released this spring to ascertain parent funding priorities for the grant.

A historic campaign such as this could not be achieved without the support and hard work of our community. Thank you to everyone that has made a contribution, reached out to their company as part of our corporate matching program, contributed via DAF, and talked to neighbors and friends about the importance of The Giving Campaign. Every single donation, no matter the amount, supports our students and our schools.
