US News & World Report recently ranked Beach Elementary School number 15 in their California rankings of top elementary schools, a fact celebrated by the Beach Parent Organization on Wednesday with a coffee and donut celebration for the school’s teachers, staff, students and community. BPO also hosted a lunch for the teachers later that day.

U.S. News said it used state standardized test scores via the Department of Education to rank elementary schools across the state. Out of 6,684 elementary schools in California, Wildwood Elementary (270 students) was ranked 26 and Havens Elementary (415 students) was ranked 155. Beach has 291 students.
