Boys soccer | Piedmont drops two in WACC play

The Piedmont High School boys soccer team continued to struggle to score, dropping a pair of West Alameda County Conference Foothill Division matches.

The Highlanders lost 1-0 at Berkeley on Jan. 16, then fell 3-0 at Castro Valley on Jan. 20. Piedmont is now 2-9 on the season, 1-5 in WACC play.

Oliver Sensenig scored for the Yellowjackets in the Jan. 16 match off of an assist by Jasper Kirsch. Andres Lukan had a save for Berkeley (10-2-2, 7-0).

Castro Valley got two goals from Seefan Hizkeal and a goal from Xavi Thompson while improving to 8-4-2, 3-1-2 heading into a showdown with the Yellowjackets on Jan. 23.

The Highlanders host Bishop O’Dowd on Jan. 23 and will host San Leandro on Jan. 27.
