Highlanders rout Titans, 75-22. Victory follows a Jan. 17 win against International-San Francisco at the Miramonte MLK Showcase.
Piedmont High School’s boys basketball time had an easy time of it against Skyline on Jan. 19, recording a 75-22 win over the Titans at the MLK I Have a Dream Showcase at Oakland High.
The Highlanders improved to 13-5 on the season.
Dillon Casey scored 11 of his 17 points in the first quarter as Piedmont raced to a 19-12 lead. Lucian Fang Ring scored 12 of his 20 points in the second quarter to push the advantage to 45-14 at halftime. Felix Lopez-Reyes had the only Skyline basket of the period.
The third quarter was more of the same as the Highlanders outscored the Titans, 22-3.
Cash Panico finished with 10 points for Piedmont. Ten Highlanders scored.
Lopez-Reyes and Seku Kimmons led Skyline with seven points apiece.
On Jan. 17, the Highlanders beat International-San Francisco at the Miramonte MLK Showcase, 53-29. Casey again led a hot start with 11 of his 18 points in the first quarter when Piedmont took a 22-6 lead. P.J. Brayer scored 16 points and Ollie Dougan added 10.
Rohan Humphries and Ben Silverman each scored 10 for the Jaguars.
Piedmont had a 28-10 lead at halftime and was never threatened.
Beach Lorin missed both games.
The Highlanders are scheduled to play at Alameda on Jan. 22 and at home against University-San Francisco on Jan. 24.
