Adoption story: It was Covid time, and we wanted a dog to keep our kids and family company. We found a family in Arkansas who was looking for a home for their dog. Kirby was born in November of 2020 and driven across the country to us in January. We’ve loved every moment with Kirby and haven’t looked back since.
Likes: Kirby loves people! If you walk into our house, Kirby will give you a warm welcome, which could include jumping all over you. He’s full of energy all the time, but is very affectionate. Kirby also loves being outside, and is a big fan of hikes and time at the park. Additionally, he loves food (usually unguarded food on low tables). Finally, Kirby loves tennis balls and all sorts of toys. If you give him a fresh tennis ball, he’ll be happy for hours.
Dislikes: Kirby dislikes taking any type of bath or shower, loud noises like fireworks, any type of small noise outside the front door (he’s our little guard dog), and when family isn’t home.
Fun Facts: For some reason, Kirby has fallen in love with eating fresh napkins, even if there’s no food within them. Also, if he sees a squirrel or a bird, he’ll quickly chase after them, but he never catches them.
