Family: Doug, Lauren, Sadie, and Sam Hartman
Name: Luna
Age: 3 years old
Adoption story: We had lost our first dog, Poppy, a couple months back. We realized that having a dog brought us so much joy, and we wanted another. One day, we found two sister poodles on Craig’s list. A week later, we met them at Burger King in Alameda to see what they were like. We arrived without a dog, but ended up leaving with one!
Likes: Luna loves to be around people. She’s the type of dog to walk across your computer, messing up everything, just to get into your lap. Additionally, Luna loves warmth. She has a tendency to find any warm spot nearby, whether it’s under the covers, clean laundry, or even just outside in the sun.
Dislikes: Luna does not have many dislikes. One thing she doesn’t like are suitcases. She knows that when she sees a suitcase, it means we’re traveling and have to leave her behind. Another thing she does not like is water, or swimming in it. This is a little different, because normally poodles are water dogs — but not Luna. She will cry for you to come back if you go swimming, and she will walk all the way around a puddle just so she doesn’t have to go in the water.
Fun Facts: Luna is very clumsy! I constantly see her fall down the stairs and then get right back up again like nothing happened. One time, when she was sleeping on the couch, she rolled over and fell off of it. She hadn’t realized what had happened until ten seconds later when she got up all confused.
