Turkey Trot gives a shout-out to race course monitors

One of the great things about the Piedmont Turkey Trot is that the race is run on a closed course. Runners are allowed to run down the middle of the street and not worry about traffic. They can just enjoy their run, jog or walk on Thanksgiving morning because of our veritable army(54) of course monitors and a handful of City police officers who ensure the streets remain closed and safe.

While many course monitors are current parents of XC & Track and Field kids, we have a handful of volunteers from the community who have been part of our race for years. We’d  like to thank them now, a few are retiring their orange vests this year after a decade or more  on the course.

Please help us give them a round of applause!
