Man had warrant out of San Francisco
A man was arrested after reports of a prowler came in to the Piedmont Police Department around 2:50 p.m. on September 22. Piedmont Police Captain Chris Monahan said that multiple reports came in of a male subject seen near multiple residences. The suspect was found at the intersection of Linda and Kingston avenues.
According to Captain Monahan, the suspect gave multiple names, none of which were found to be correct. The man said he needed medical attention and was taken to Highland Hospital. During a search, a glass pipe was found as well as a credit card. Captain Monahan said that eventually, the individual was identified and that he had a warrant out of San Francisco for a Post Release Community Service (PRCS) violation. It turned out the credit card he was found with had a different name than his own.
The suspect was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin and booked for prowling, probation violation, lying about his identity and the warrant.
On September 25, a prowler was reported on Olive Avenue at 8:02 a.m. A suspect was found and taken to Santa Rita Jail. He was booked for prowling and violating probation. Captain Monahan said the investigation included a review of video surveillance which showed the alleged prowler masturbating in a backyard. Additional charges of indecent exposure were filed.
On September 23, a 2012 Kymco 200i scooter with no license plate was pulled over at 2:36 p.m. near MacArthur and Lakeshore. The officer observed that the ignition on the scooter had been tampered with, according to Captain Monahan. A records check showed the scooter had been stolen out of San Francisco. The driver had no drivers license and was clear of warrants, Captain Monahan said. She was cited and released.
A burglary was reported on September 22 on Latham Street with the victim claiming tools were stolen sometime on September 20 or 21. The value of the tools have not yet been reported, according to Captain Monahan.
At 2:06 a.m. on September 22, a woman driving a black 2015 Honda Fit was pulled over at Grand and Fairview avenues. Police administered a field sobriety test and the driver failed to complete it, according to Captain Monahan. He said a Preliminary Alcohol Screening (PAS) test produced results of 0.175 and 0.117 Blood Alcohol Content.
The suspect was taken to Santa Rita Jail and consented to a blood draw.
