The four-day tournament at Silverado Resort, located just outside of Napa, had the best field in the event’s history as some of the top American golfers prepared to play in the Ryder Cup international competition against Europe later this month.
Scheffler overtook Ben Griffin, also a member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team, in the final few holes for a one-shot victory, his sixth victory in 2025.
The ProCore Championship marked the start of the FedExCup Fall, a series of seven events usually highlighted by golfers lower down the rankings competing to be in the top 100 who will have full status assured on the PGA Tour for next year.
However, this year’s tournament featured 10 of the 12 members of the U.S. Ryder Cup team, which will play Europe in the biennial international competition in New York from Sept. 26-28. Recent major tournament winners like Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and J.J. Spaun were among the other American Ryder Cup teammates in the field.
