Tyler Ellis (PHS ’16) plays a lead role in the North American tour of the Broadway musical “Shucked,” now playing through October 5.

Nearly 40 Piedmonters were in the audience at a recent performance of “Shucked” to see Ellis on stage at the Curran. In the Playbill program below, Ellis credits his family and his education in the Piedmont schools for inspiring his love and pursuit of theater: “To my parents, my teachers, and everyone who encouraged my pursuit of this dream, thank you for being here. There’s no place like home. This is for you, Grandma.” Ellis’ grandmother, Mary Anne Kennedy, was there the other night (pictured above) to see that dream come true.
