Be part of the second annual Piedmont Adult Recreation EXPO

The 2024 Expo drew hundreds to Veterans Hall.

Organizations that provide adult recreational activities inside the city of Piedmont are invited to participate in the second annual Piedmont Adult Recreation EXPO. The EXPO will be held on Sunday, Nov. 16, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Piedmont Veterans Memorial Building, 401 Highland Avenue, in Piedmont.

This event will showcase recreational programs from the Piedmont Recreation Department, the Piedmont Adult School, the Piedmont Center for the Arts, and other organizations. Representatives will table at the event and explain to attendees how they can get involved in the different groups’ fall 2025 and winter 2026 recreational programs, activities, or classes.

There is no fee to participate in or attend the EXPO. The event will be open to all adults, Piedmont residents and non-residents.

This is the second year for the EXPO. An almost identical event was held last November. It was highly successful with approximately 200 people participating. This community service event is being conducted by Piedmont volunteers. It is supported by the Piedmont Recreation Department, the Piedmont Adult School, the Piedmont Center for the Arts, and a limited number of corporate sponsors.

An adult recreation expo was a recommendation in a Piedmont Recreation Commission 2023 Older Adult Recreation Report. The report concluded that there was a broad range of recreational opportunities available for older adults in Piedmont from many organizations. However, people often were unaware of them or did not know how to get involved. The EXPO addresses this opportunity and increases adult participation in Piedmont recreation of many different types.

Groups that provide recreation for adults within the city of Piedmont and want to participate in the EXPO should contact Lisa Gardner at lgardner555@gmail.com or Dick Carter camktgrp@comcast.net to register.
