The center of town was abuzz with nervous energy on Friday, Aug. 8: Walk-Through Registration for Piedmont middle and high school students marks the end of summer, the day for high school and middle school staff and administrators to make final preparations for the first day of school, and for students and families to get schedules, student IDs, pick up books, and walk around the campuses.

One of the biggest changes to the high school campus is the installation of new turf and planter boxes in the PHS courtyard, creating more seating and green space for students. Additionally, the high school showed off a new Mac Lab and school Mascot on its social media accounts this week.
Also new this year: A “no cell phones except at lunch policy,” approved by the Board of Education at the end of the last school year.
The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 11.
