The Bond Oversight Committee took a tour of the community pool construction site on June 24 with Griffin Structures Project Executive Joshua Kaiser. In a social media post after the tour, the city said that the pools will be filled with water in August followed by a period of commissioning (testing of systems) that could take weeks or months. The city has yet to announce an official opening date for the facility.
The Bond Oversight Committee, required by Measure UU, was created by the City Council to focus on reviewing and reporting on the expenditure of the proceeds of the bonds. Its members are John Chiang, William Dietch, Margaret Hiller, Al Lee, and Patricia Leicher (Chair)
